Help, I’m IN the computer!

DO YOU WANT TO GET DIGITALLY SCANNED?

I recently went to Deezmaker to have an “All Points” check done on the Bukobot 3D printer as well as have it calibrated. After the entire process Diego, the designer responsible for the Bukobot asked me “Hey, would like a digital 3D scan of yourself?”

Thinking that I could use the scan data as a base mesh for any up and coming armor builds, I eagerly stripped of my shirt and said “YES!”

FATASS
Ohhh DAMN, was THAT a mistake. There is nothing worse than a digital representation of yourself to see just HOW out of shape you are! I will be cleaning up the scan data by smoothing it out, decimating it, adding new sculpted hands and retopologize the mesh. Ugh, sounds like a lot of work.

I found out two things about scan data:

1) Scan Data needs a lot of work to become ready for print
2) MY FAT ASS NEEDS TO GET IN SHAPE! ugh.

A big “Thank You” goes out to the guys over at Deezmaker in Pasadena, Ca.
